Welcome to our Website.
We are very pleased that you are
interested in the DAR and particularly in Long Cane Chapter.
We are a non-profit,
non-political, volunteer organization. We
were organized in 1964 with 12 members and currently have a membership
of 46 ladies. We
are part of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution,
which is a volunteer service organization dedicated to promoting
patriotism, preserving American History and securing America's future
through better education for children. DAR
stands for God, Home and Country.
Long Cane Chapter is dedicated to honoring
and preserving the legacy of our patriot ancestors. We seek not only to
preserve history but to encourage patriotism and citizenship and to
foster a love for America in present and future generations.
We meet monthly from
September through May. Our
October meeting is always a joint meeting with three other chapters in
the area. Visitors are always welcome. Click on the Chapter Contact link to seek
additional information or inquire about membership.
Do you have a Revolutionary
Patriot in your Family Tree?
The DAR Patriot Index
contains names of Revolutionary patriots, both men and women, whose
service has been established.
We will be happy to check that Index for you.
What if I need help finding
an ancestor or filling out my application papers?
Long
Cane Chapter will assist you with finding your ancestors, documenting
your lineage and filling out the papers. Some
of our members belong to genealogical societies, have done genealogical
research and have helped others find their ancestors.
We have resources and connections to help with the
entire process
Thank you for browsing our page.
We welcome your inquires and comments.
